The information contained in DED includes: element name, table name, common name and field definition. Department of Defense (DoD) The Department of Defense (DoD) provides the military forces needed to deter war and to protect the security of the nation. As branches under DoD, the Army, Navy and Air Force are each responsible for the environmental restoration of sites under their control. In addition, the Army Corps of Engineers supports cleanup actions at Superfund sites.
